Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Orange Cake from the Rachael Ray Show
Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Orange Cake from the Rachael Ray Show
Julia Louis Dreyfus was a guest at the Rachael Ray show and she was there baking her famous orange cake.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Orange Cake
Ingredients:
8 (tablesppon)TBSP butter softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 eggs separated
rind of 3 oranges
1 1/2cups sifted white flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease 9x9 cake pan
Cream sugar and butter. Slowly add egg yolks, one at a time.
Sift together dry ingredients, and blend with mixture, alternating with the orange juice.
Whip egg whites until small peaks form.
Fold into cake mixture.
Pour into 9x9 cake pan, and bake 30-35 mins.
Frosting:
18 oz pkg of cream cheese
2 cups icing sugar
zest of 2 oranges
3 TBSP butter softened
Blend together until creamy.
or you might want to try this version of icing:
250g margarine
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 can (397g) condensed milk
Method :
1. Beat margarine with cocoa powder till well blended.
2. Gradually add the condensed milk and stir till smooth.
3. Ready to use.
Ingredients :
125g / 4 oz butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar ~ sifted
2 tablespoons fresh milk
Vanilla essence
Method :
1. Beat butter till soft.
2. Add in icing sugar
3. Add in fresh milk, ONLY IF the icing is hard
Ingredients :
125g krimwell
125g butter
100g condensed milk
40g icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence/orange essence/orange rind
Method :
Beat the above ingredients till white and fluffy. Ready to use.
